Overview

Sharing and disseminating information about e-learning is crucial to our service. We use a variety of media to distribute news, events, information about the RSC and JISC, as well as developments in e-learning, to learning providers across the West Midlands. This means you can choose how you want to receive the latest updates, and communicate with the RSC and the wider community.

We also work closely with LSIS to source and share examples of best practice in e-learning. This could range from the use of a Virtual Learning Environment in teaching, to incorporating mobile learning into the curriculum.

The examples we source appear on the Excellence Gateway portal - an online resource for post 16 learning and skills providers.

RSC support

• JISCMail – e-mail discussion lists which enable UK HE and FE learning providers to share best practice, and exchange thoughts and ideas
• Newsletter – this termly printed publication keeps learning providers informed of RSC WM news
• RSC website – find out more about events, latest news and how we can help your organisation
• RSS feeds – subscribe to our feeds for RSC events and news via our website
• RSC Wiki – resource featuring event and training documents, links to useful software and hints and tips on using ICT to support e-learning
• Blogs – our e-learning advisers have individual blogs which keep learning providers informed of the latest news relevant to their sector
• RSC-WM Moodle – the RSC’s Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). Moodle is used to host online courses and events
